Professional Managers for Events

Organisers International, commenced operation in March 1988. It was formed as an "event management" company to promote Exhibitions, Trade Shows and Award Events.

Managing Director Janina Cowley Managing Director Janina Cowley had worked in event management from 1985 to 1988 before starting her own company.

It has become a leader in event management and has the track record to stage events of varying size and complexity.

Since 1988 Organisers International has managed two Home Shows annually, the Good Food and Cooking Show 1998 and 1999, two Garden Shows, Travel Expos and Money and Property Expos,EveryWomen Expo and body + soul Expo in conjunction with The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail as well as The Home Show, Travel Expo and What Women Want all annually in conjunction with The Gold Coast Bulletin.

Organisers International also has managed Personal Investment Shows, a Small Business Trade Show, Real Estate and Property Show and Ultimate Sales, launches and Award nights in its own right.

To add a wider variety of Exhibitors and visitors, Organisers International has upgraded and added different components to shows over the years.

The Art Show was a "value added" section to The Sunday Mail Home Show in October 1998, and was so successful it was included in the 1999 and 2000 Home Shows. The 1999 and 2000 Courier-Mail Home Shows incorporated an Art Show, but with a different slant to The Sunday Mail.

Another new innovation was The Sunday Mail Home Show "Rooms on View" where 10 interior designers/architects were given a colour to design a room with an over the top theme. Each year designers are queuing up to participate.

The concept was expanded to the March Home Show as "Landscapes on View" and 10 landscape architects designed gardening themes. The gardening section in the 2003 Home Show featured Hawkins Nursery with John Hawkins doing seminars and cooking demonstrations.

Other attractions have included special theming such as "The House of Flowers", A.V. Jennings "House of the Future" and Lady Di's Bedroom.

The Brisbane Home Shows attract more visitors per capita than both Sydney and Melbourne Shows. The number of visitors who attend in Brisbane has grown over the years, and a total of more than two million people have attended Organisers International shows in the last 18 years.

Organisers International has taken the Home Shows from 120 exhibitors in 1988 to more than 450 exhibitors each Home Show.

To ensure the latest concepts for Brisbane Janina Cowley has travelled to exhibitions both overseas and in Australia during the last 18 years. In addition, a top team with extensive Industry experience has been recruited to run Organisers Internationals' calendar of exhibitions.

Mrs Cowley is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She was on the Riverfestival Board was also a former Events Committee chairman for the Royal Women's Hospital Foundation, and is a former Board member of the Golden Casket.
